Absolutely not! I was the third child/third daughter to a couple that wanted a son in the worst way so they named me after him anyway. They changed the spelling to a more feminine one but it was a man's name nonetheless. Then in my 40's I discovered that he wasn't even my father. My mother had an affair and I was the result. So my maiden name isn't even a reflection of my true parentage. I changed my first name at 18 because I was tired of being mistaken for a boy plus no one had ever called me by it. I had gone by my middle name my whole life. Now I am contemplating a name change that will truly reflect me. I haven't found the right fit but I'm getting closer.
