What would you like to be more clear about?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 13, 2009:
I want clarity about what it is I really want in so many areas of my life.
I'm in grad school but I'm not sure I've picked the right major.
I'm single and happy but sometimes I think a relationship would be awesome.
I live with my children - one an adult, the other is mid-teens - I feel the need to escape but don't really know why. I
I'm not sure where to practice my spirituality. I have leanings toward Buddhism but also Paganism.
Clarity would be a gift right now that I would appreciate tremendously.

Help

Hi Kim, I hope you don't mind me saying so, but from my perspective and experience, a lot of confusion stems from the fact that our culture has long exalted the wisdom of the mind at the expense of the wisdom of the heart. In other words, if you have feelings that are urging you to escape, then try to arrange for a little escape – even if just for an hour or two, or a day or two – escape somewhere where you can be alone with yourself, preferably in a quiet, natural setting, away from the distractions of your everyday life and responsibilities. Nothing like a little quiet contemplation to foster clarity. Because ultimately, no one knows better what is best for you than you. And there are no wrong choices – only choices. Thus, if you have a passion for something, follow it when and if you have the means. And if you don't have a passion for something (that you are already following), that is a clue (from your heart) that perhaps you should consider making some new choices. The wonderful thing about heart-wisdom is you don't have to understand it to follow it and to benefit from it. You just need to trust it. Many blessings to you on your journey!
I don't mind you saying so at all! I know this at heart but sometimes the distance between my head and my heart is as big as the galaxy. I haven't been taking that much needed time for myself and my spirit is reminding me as are you. Thank you so much.
Namaste!
