This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 17, 2008:
My family is small; myself and my two kids. They are wonderfully unique in that both have multiple mental health disorders but also amazing intellects. They offer me a beautiful way to see the world.
My oldest is in college now and she shows me all that is possible for the future. She also serves as a great example for her younger brother on where he can go. He's in high school and is struggling but she did too. She stuck it out, graduated valedictorian, and then received academic scholarships for college. She's thriving at school in spite of her disabilities. I think of her when I see my son having difficulties and I know this too shall pass.
