What confuses you most about the world?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 12, 2008:
The level of ignorance that so many people seem to cling to to maintain the status quo in their own world. It strikes me as the outward manifestation of their fear of the unknown or anything different. The ignorance feeds the notion that different equals bad or scary; something to be avoided or worse, destroyed.
My belief is that we all need to open our eyes and our minds to the wonderful diversity that is the human race. Only then can peace truly happen.

It is definitely fascinating to be an observer as you watch others fall for the hype in order to maintain status quo. I've been doing that a lot lately.
