Where did you come from?

I wrote a poem on this in a creative writing class a few years ago.  I thought I came from Cindy and Al.  Nope!  Through a series of strange intuitive feelings, I uncovered the truth.  I come from Cindy and Bill.  Al's not around anymore to be hurt by that but since he abandoned my sisters and I when we were little children, I wouldn't be worried about hurting his pride.  My mom has been gone for 15 years so that leaves Bill and he's not talking.  I did find out that they had an affair while Mom was married to Al.  She got pregnant with me.  Bill's first ex-wife turned him into the draft when she found out about his new love so he was sent off to Vietnam before I was born.  I legally became the daughter of Allen since they were married.  I carried his name (first [Allyn] and last if you can believe that).  At 18, I switched my first and middle names because I'd always gone by Kimberly.  It was about that time that my twice divorced mother began to date Bill again.  After they split up, I jokingly told her she could tell me the truth; Bill was my father, not Al.  She gave a nervous laugh and walked away.  I thought she was laughing at the absurdity of it.  Little did I know.  20 or so years later, the conversation came back to me.  It took me 4 years to get the truth but I did; Bill is my father.  So, where do I come from?  A place of lies and deceit but also one of deep love.  They couldn't make it work but they were the loves of each other's lives.  It still hurts but I hold onto that.
