What's the best thing about getting older?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 11, 2007:
I have found a great acceptance of myself that I never had in my 20's & 30's. Being in my 40's has given me a different outlook and perspective of where I stand in this world. I stand on my own without the need for everyone's approval. It's incredibly freeing. I would have loved to experience this 2 decades ago.

Each stage of life prepares us for the next. I can see that you will be carrying a great wisdom into your fifties! :)

So true, Gem. I probably wasn't ready or able to “see” that. I'm just glad I've grown to this level of self-acceptance.
